Refund Policy
Introduction
NC Publishers (“the Company”) is committed to delivering high-quality publishing services. We understand that, under certain circumstances, you may need to request a refund. This Refund Policy outlines the process, terms, and conditions under which refunds may be issued for our services. We strive for transparency and fairness in all our dealings, in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, and other applicable Indian laws.
1. Scope of the Refund Policy
This policy applies to the following services provided by NC Publishers:
- Book Publishing Services: Including ISBN and DOI assignment, print (paperback and hardcover), and digital formats.
- Textbook and Edited Book Publishing: Including ISBN and DOI assignment, editorial and design services, and both print and digital formats.
- Conference Proceedings and Research Journals: Including editorial, design, and printing services.
- Editorial and Design Services: Including content editing, formatting, and layout design.
- Printing Services: For paperback, hardcover, and digital publications.
- Google Books Facility: For digital distribution and online publication.
2. Eligibility for Refunds
Refund requests may be considered under the following circumstances:
2.1 Pre-Work Cancellation
If the cancellation request is made before any work has commenced (such as editing, design, or printing), the client is entitled to a full refund of any advance payments made. The cancellation request must be submitted in writing via email to ncpublishers@gmail.com or by calling +91 96778 33906.
2.2 Company Errors
If the client identifies a significant error attributable to the Company (such as incorrect ISBN/DOI assignment, typographical errors, or printing issues), the client may be entitled to a refund or a reprint of the affected materials. Errors must be reported within 7 days of receiving the materials or publication.
2.3 Delayed or Non-Delivery
If the ordered services or printed materials are delayed beyond the agreed-upon deadline (and no prior communication was made by the Company), the client may request a partial or full refund depending on the severity of the delay. Refunds will be considered only if the delay exceeds 45 days from the original delivery date.
2.4 Non-Completion of Service
If the Company is unable to complete the services due to unforeseen circumstances (such as technical failures, force majeure events, etc.), the client may be entitled to a partial or full refund, depending on the extent of the work completed. A prorated refund will be calculated based on the work already performed.
2.5 Cancellation of Digital Distribution Services
If the client cancels digital distribution services (e.g., Google Books publication) before the work has been published or distributed, the client is entitled to a refund for the portion of the services that have not been executed. Once the digital publication has gone live, no refund will be issued for that specific service.
3. Non-Eligibility for Refunds
Refunds will not be provided under the following circumstances:
- Change of Mind: If the client changes their mind about proceeding with the project after work has commenced (e.g., after editorial work, design, or printing has begun), no refund will be provided, except under specific conditions outlined in the cancellation policy.
- Completed Services or Products: Once the work has been completed and delivered (especially for printed materials), no refund will be issued as the product is nonreturnable and non-refundable.
- Client-Caused Errors: Refunds will not be issued for errors or issues arising from client-provided materials, including manuscripts, content, images, or other assets.
- Third-Party Charges: Refunds will not be issued for third-party charges or services, such as ISBN registration, DOI assignment, or any external distribution services (e.g., Google Books).
4. Refund Process
4.1 Initiating a Refund Request
To initiate a refund request, the client must submit a written request via email to ncpublishers@gmail.com or by phone at +91 96778 33906. The request must include the following details:
- Client name and contact information
- Order number or project details
- A detailed explanation of the reason for the refund request
- Any relevant documentation (e.g., screenshots, order confirmations, emails, etc.)
4.2 Review and Assessment of the Request
Once the refund request is received, the Company will review the details of the order, including the scope of work completed, the reason for the request, and any applicable terms and conditions. This process may take up to [Insert Number] business days.
4.3 Approval or Denial of the Refund Request
After reviewing the refund request, the Company will notify the client of the approval or denial of the refund. If the refund is approved, the Company will issue the refund according to the terms outlined in this policy. If the refund is denied, the Company will provide a detailed explanation for the decision.
4.4 Refund Method
Refunds will be issued through the same payment method used by the client at the time of purchase (e.g., bank transfer, credit card, debit card). If the original payment method is not available, the Company will arrange an alternative method for refund.
4.5 Processing Time for Refunds
Refunds will typically be processed within 15 business days from the date of approval. However, please note that during public holidays or festive seasons, this timeframe may be extended due to banking delays.
5. Force Majeure
In the event of a force majeure situation (such as natural disasters, government regulations, labour strikes, or technical failures), NC Publishers will not be held responsible for delays, cancellations, or any inability to provide services. In such cases, the Company will attempt to reschedule services or offer alternative solutions, but refunds will not be issued unless explicitly stated otherwise.
6. Modification of Refund Policy
NC Publishers reserves the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Any changes to the policy will be communicated to clients via email or posted on the official website. The new terms will apply to any refund requests made after the updated policy has been implemented.
7. Dispute Resolution
In case of unresolved disputes regarding a refund request, both the Company and the client will make every effort to resolve the issue amicably. If the dispute cannot be resolved through mutual agreement, the matter will be handled in accordance with the laws of India, and the jurisdiction for any legal action will be the courts of Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Alternatively, the dispute may be referred to arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, in Coimbatore.
